Previous releases during the Covid era, like ‘Black Widow’ (with an $80 million debut plus $60 million on Disney Plus), ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ (with a $75 million debut), and ‘Eternals’ (with a $71 million debut), didn’t match up to the success of earlier franchise movies, partly due to the pandemic and other challenges.
