Rihanna is coming back to music after six years, and it’s now official. She’ll release her first single, “Lift Me Up,” on Friday as part of the soundtrack for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The song, co-written by Tems, Ludwig Van Göransson, and Ryan Coogler, pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman. The only clues in the initial tweet were the letter R and the words “October 28, 2022” with the eyes emoji. But Rihanna is clearly the most important R. After starting a family and many businesses, this marks a successful return to music. We waited, and now there’s new music.
