Gal Gadot has hinted at the “Next Chapter” in Wonder Woman 3 as she marks the nine-year anniversary of the casting announcement. The actress celebrated the occasion by sharing a photo of herself from the first Wonder Woman movie on Instagram. In the caption, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to portray the iconic role and conveyed excitement for fans to embark on the heroine’s upcoming adventures.
Gadot’s Instagram post read, “On this day, a few years ago, was the first announcement that I was going to play Wonder Woman. I’ve been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I’m grateful for YOU. The fans. The most amazing, warm, loving fans in the world. I’m still pinching myself to see if I will wake up. Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.”
In 2021, during a talk between director Patty Jenkins and Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman from the TV series, Wonder Woman 3 was officially announced at DC Fan Dome. While Gal Gadot shared an update on the movie’s script in April, there hasn’t been much progress on the third installment since then.
In an interview with Forbes, Gal mentioned, “We’re talking! We’re actually in the mix of working on the script and getting the third one made, so it’s all wheels are working and turning, and I’m super, super excited for the fans to come and watch Wonder Woman 3 once it’s made.”
Even though the schedule and plans for Wonder Woman 3 haven’t been made public yet, Gadot’s statement suggests that things are still moving forward. This is good news for DC fans, especially with recent changes at Warner Bros., where James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios. The duo, known for their work on The Suicide Squad and Shazam!, respectively, are expected to share more updates on the DC Universe property by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
