Margot Robbie admitted that she and Brad Pitt unexpectedly kissed while filming Babylon. Although it wasn’t part of the plan, she took the chance because it was the only opportunity.
Babylon, a historical comedy-drama set to be released in the UK in January, features Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt. The story revolves around Nellie, played by Robbie, an aspiring actress seeking success in 1920s Hollywood with the help of Manny (Diego Calva) and Jack (Brad Pitt).
The film, which also includes Tobey Maguire and Eric Roberts, was released before the 2023 Academy Awards.
During a recent interview with E!News, Margot Robbie revealed that she and Brad Pitt shared an unplanned kiss while filming. Despite it not being in the script, Robbie took the opportunity, thinking it might be her only chance to kiss the Hollywood legend.
Robbie discussed her idea with director Damien Chazelle before filming. She suggested that her character, Nellie, would spontaneously kiss Jack, played by Brad Pitt. Chazelle initially caught on to Robbie’s real motive, saying, “You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt.” However, he agreed that it could work for the character.
After witnessing what Robbie described as a “beautiful kiss,” Chazelle was convinced and insisted that the scene be kept in the film. Robbie jokingly mentioned that Chazelle even asked for another take, saying, “No, do it again. That really works.”
“Babylon” marks Chazelle’s first directorial project since the 2018 biopic “First Man,” centered around the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong.
